Walt Disney Presents: The Menstruation Story
I have a love/hate relationship with Disney. I’ve been to Disneyland on four occasions, most recently last January, but I don’t consider myself a Disney fan. It’s a strange contradiction, I know, but I think my fascination is with Walt Disney the man as opposed to Mickey Mouse and his minions. I main bit of interest with Walt is how he created an empire based upon fantasy and yet there were skeletons in his closet (like the rumor that he was an Anti-Semite) or his tendency to produce propaganda and documentaries. I realize that the guy was trying to help out but it just seems kinda creepy that he produced The Menstruation Story in 1946. I really have nothing more to offer on this matter besides the aforementioned creepy feeling.
Obama Supporters
As noted in an earlier post DPC.com (and Scarlett Johansson) support Barack Obama in 2008. We are a little over a week away from Super Tuesday and with each passing moment Obama gains support and it isn’t just from crackpot bloggers in Northern California:

- Caroline Kennedy
- Ted Kennedy
- John Kerry
- Jessica Biel
- Oprah
- George Clooney
- Jamie Foxx
- Forest Whitaker
- Sidney Poitier

T.R.O.Y. Heath Ledger
Sadly Heath Ledger passed away this afternoon at the age of 28. At this point details are sketch on how the Australian thespian passed on but early indications is that he used pills to cure his ills and maybe to an intentional excess.
So sad. The Oscar nominated actor left a young daughter behind.

Nevada Alumni For Obama
Viva Obama
Scarlett Johansson, like DavidPatrickCastro.com, is pro Barack Obama in 2008. DPC.com is not pro Obama due to Scarlett. America is dying slowly after eight years of choking oppression that robbed us of our civil liberties and it is time for America to realize the error of its ways and bring about a better tomorrow. Barack Obama can do this and the American people want their unimagined horizon back after being beaten to a cowering stance.
Change We Can Believe In
Des Moines, IA January 03, 2008
Thank you, Iowa.
You know, they said this day would never come.
They said our sights were set too high.
They said this country was too divided; too disillusioned to ever come together around a common purpose.
But on this January night - at this defining moment in history - you have done what the cynics said we couldn’t do. You have done what the state of New Hampshire can do in five days. You have done what America can do in this New Year, 2008. In lines that stretched around schools and churches; in small towns and big cities; you came together as Democrats, Republicans and Independents to stand up and say that we are one nation; we are one people; and our time for change has come.
You said the time has come to move beyond the bitterness and pettiness and anger that’s consumed Washington; to end the political strategy that’s been all about division and instead make it about addition - to build a coalition for change that stretches through Red States and Blue States. Because that’s how we’ll win in November, and that’s how we’ll finally meet the challenges that we face as a nation.
We are choosing hope over fear. We’re choosing unity over division, and sending a powerful message that change is coming to America.
Dark Side of the Rainbow
Although the Dark Side of the Rainbow effect has become famous, its origin is murky. In 1994, fans of Pink Floyd discussed the phenomenon on the Usenet message board alt.music.pink-floyd. At that point, knowledge of who first thought of combining the two works, and why, was already lost.
Since then, several waves of attention rippled through popular culture. In August 1995, a newspaper in Fort Wayne, Indiana, published the first mainstream media article[1] about the synchronicity, citing alt.music.pink-floyd. Soon afterward, several fans began creating websites in which they touted the experience and tried to catalog comprehensively the corresponding moments. A second wave of awareness began in April 1997 when a Boston radio DJ discussed Dark Side of the Rainbow on the air, leading to further mainstream media articles and a segment on MTV news.[2]
In July 2000, the cable channel Turner Classic Movies aired a version of Oz with the Dark Side album as an alternate soundtrack.[3] That same month, an episode from season two of the animated television show Family Guy aired that made reference to the effect; entitled “The Story on Page One”, the episode included Peter Griffin saying to Luke Perry, “I’m telling you, Dark Side of the Moon totally syncs up with the Wizard of Oz!” (Also, in the January 2002 episode “Stuck Together Torn Apart,” from Family Guy season three, the character Mort Goldman tells Griffin that he and his wife “like to watch old movies while listening to Hotel California to see if it syncs up in a significant way. And so far, no. Nothing has.”)
In the 2005 film The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, Pepe the Prawn can be heard to say Those of you who have Dark Side of the Moon, press play now.

Az Cardinals Update
There were minimal Arizona Cardinals update
s for the 2007 season. I did my best to follow the Cards but due to moving to Nor Cal I had almost no access to games and misc. news. In 2008 I’ll do my best to amend this problems. Heck, I’ll start right now.
Leinart Back in the Saddle with Kristin Cavallari
No changing diapers last weekend - Arizona Cardinals QB Matt Leinart was in Vegas partying with old flame Kristin Cavallari, who was celebrating her 21st birthday. Laguna Beach fans (it was a solid show before it turned into the dreck that is The Hills and that horrible Newport Beach garbage) may recall that the two dated during the show’s first season, when he was at USC and she was a high schooler.
If you’re keeping score at home, Hollywood Leinart’s resume, real and perceived: Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano and Brynn Cameron. Cavallari would probably be his best score, since she lacks in the deranged department, and is actually hot. This puts him firmly in Romo/Brady land, except, you know, he needs to a) stay healthy and b) win a few more games.

25 Hottest Sports Wives
Here are my choices for the 25 hottest sports wives of all time. It includes 6 playboy cover models, a wedding that lasted a whole 274 days, an apperance by Dennis Rodman, and some pretty fantastic pictures. Enjoy.
1. Halle Berry
David Justice. In 1992, Justice hit 21 homers and drove in 72 rbi’s. In 1993, he married Halle Berry and proceeded to hit 40 homers and 120 rbis. I guess a better home life led to a better work life…
Outcome: Divorced (married from 1992-1996)
2. Marilyn Monroe
Joe DiMaggio. When Joe married Marilyn on January 14, 1954, he was challenging Lou Gehrig as the “luckiest man on the face of the earth”. But it ended 274 days later, when Marilyn filed for divorce, which led Oscar Levant to quip that it proved that no man could be a success in two pastimes.
Outcome: Divorced after 274 days.
